The Obafemi Awolowo University Graduates’ Association, (UNIFEMGA) Scholarship Fund is one of UNIFEMGA empowerment programmes for Muslim Students at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. The scholarship application form is now available for the 2023/2024 session (the next academic session in OAU).

The goal of this scholarship programme is:

To assist indigent Muslim Students.
To improve academic performance.
To promote Scholarship.
To enhance female enrolment/ retention in academics.

Eligibility and Guidelines for Applicants

A. The Scholarship awards shall be open to Muslim Students in all fields of endeavour at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.
B. Current awardees shall be given priority if of good conduct, appropriate CGPA is maintained and form filled for the session.
C. Current/ Returning awardees should fill their forms under the returning awardees section.
D. Undergraduate Applicants must have successfully completed at least one year in the University.
E. Applicants for merit scholarship must have a minimum CGPA of 3.5.
F. Applicants for honors award must have a minimum CGPA of 2.5.
G. Physically Challenged candidates must have CGPA of 2.5.
H. All sections of the application form should be duly completed.
I. Any incorrect or incomplete information disqualifies the applicant.
J. Applicants should not be on any scholarship programme at the time of submitting the form.
K. All applicants, (new and current awardees must submit copy of latest transcript at the interview).

Documents Required for UNIFEMGA Scholarship

Fresh Applicants should attach photocopies of :

(i) WAEC/SSCE/NECO results used in gaining admission into the University.
(ii) JAMB results.
(iii) Admission letter into the University.
(iv) Passport Photograph

Verification of information from students on academic performance is to be done in conjunction with the Department/Faculty of the students.

Similarly, there shall be a verification exercise in respect of the awardees to confirm that the awardees are duly registered and attending students of the Institution.

Duration of Award

The Scholarship Awards shall be on annual basis to both indigent and students on Merit list, (scholarship to indigent and endowment to Merit Students). Thus the Scholarship Awards shall last for only one academic session and may be renewable.
