Latest News on JAMB Direct Entry (DE) Registration 2023

The Direct Entry (DE) admission route is for candidates seeking admission to the second year of university education in Nigeria. The DE allows candidates who possess a diploma or advanced level certificate, or who have completed a recognized pre-degree program as indicated by JAMB, to gain admission into the university through the second year (200 Level). In this article, we will provide the latest news on JAMB Direct Entry registration in Nigeria.

As of April 24, 2023, JAMB has extended the deadline for the ongoing 2023 Direct Entry registration exercise by one week. The new deadline for the DE registration is April 28th, 2023 [reference]. The announcement of the extension was made by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, on Sunday, April 23, 2023 [reference 2].

However, JAMB has also postponed the continuation of its ongoing Direct Entry (DE) registration exercise ahead of the 2023 national census exercise. In a statement released on Sunday, April 23, 2023, the board’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, announced the postponement of the exercise without indicating when it will resume [reference 3]. The statement, however, gave a deadline for the e-PIN, which is required for the registration. Candidates who have not yet obtained their e-PIN are advised to do so on or before April 30, 2023, as there will be no further extension.

The registration process involves obtaining an e-PIN from designated banks or mobile money operators, and then registering at any JAMB State office – You can also get your e-pin by reaching out to us at the end of this post. Candidates are also required to upload their O’level results and other relevant documents during the registration process.

Candidates who are still interested in registering for the Direct Entry (JAMB DE) program are advised to take advantage of the extension and complete their registration before the deadline, or at the very least, to get their JAMB DE e-pin on time. It is also important for candidates to ensure that they meet all the requirements for the program before commencing the registration process.
