JAMB Announces Official Timeline and Registration Cost for 2025 UTME and DE
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced the time for 2025 UTME and DE processes. The 2025 UTME registration will begin on January 31st, 2025 and end on March 5th, 2025. This information was made available by the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, during a meeting with media executives in Lagos on Sunday. JAMB 2025 Registration Timeline for UTME and Direct Entry Candidates
- Sales of Registration PINs will start January 31st and close on March 5th, 2025, while actual registration will end on March 8th, 2025.
- Candidates wishing to take the mock UTME must register and indicate their interest by February 23rd, 2025.
- The sale of Direct Entry application documents and e-PIN vending will run from March 10th to April 7th, 2025.
- The Mock-UTME will take place on April 5th, 2025, while the main UTME will start on April 25th, 2025, and conclude on May 5th, 2025.
Age Limit and New Mock-Trial Test for Underage Candidates
JAMB has made it known that a mock-trial testing examination will be conducted for those who may not qualify for admission into universities, polytechnics, or colleges of education due to being below 16 years of age. Such candidate is expected to purchase the mock trial testing e-PIN at the point of registration.
The Board still maintains that the age limit for this year’s UTME registration is 16 years. However, exceptional candidates below 15 years old may still register, but they must score at least 280 marks in the UTME and excel in the Senior Secondary Certificate and Post-UTME exams to be eligible for admission.
JAMB 2025 Registration Price and Categories
JAMB also announced that the cost of registration will vary, with four categories of e-PINs based on candidates’ interests and financial capabilities, they are as follows:

The breakdown of the application fee includes:
- UTME/DE JAMB Application Fee (same as previous year): ₦3,500
- Reading Text: ₦1,000
- CBT Centre Registration Service Charge: ₦700
- CBT Centre UTME Service Charge: ₦1,500
- CBT Mock Service Charge: ₦1,500
- Bank Charges: ₦500
- CBT Mock-UTME Centre Charge: ₦1,500
Candidates will need to specify the type of e-PIN required at the time of purchase, as there will be no refunds after purchase.
