According to JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the change is to ensure all necessary preparations are in place. The board is introducing various innovations and improvements to enhance the examination process while accommodating the increased number of examination centres for the 2025 UTME exercise.
Updated JAMB 2025 Dates to Remember
- Mock UTME: Now scheduled for Thursday, April 10, 2025.
- Main UTME: No changes; it will begin as planned on April 25, 2025.
What Candidates Should Know
JAMB has assured candidates that the new date will not affect the actual UTME schedule. Candidates should stay updated for announcements regarding the printing of the Mock Notification Slip, which will contain details about their examination centre.
Purpose of the Mock UTME
The Mock UTME is designed to help candidates prepare for the actual UTME. It also serves as an alternative for students below 16 years old, who are not eligible to sit for the actual UTME.
Who Can Register for UTME?
Following the directive of the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, in 2024, JAMB only registered candidates aged 16 and above for the 2025 UTME. Students younger than 16 are no longer eligible for admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions.
