Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Basic Midwifery programme of Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Eleyele, Ibadan. The duration of the course is 3 years.

Students who undergo this program are licensed Registered Midwife (RM) at the end of the program.

Brief Overview of Basic Midwifery Program

A Basic Midwifery Program prepares individuals to become qualified midwives. Midwifery is the health science and health profession that deals with pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, in addition to the sexual and reproductive health of women throughout their lives. A professional in midwifery is known as a midwife.

Graduates are eligible to take the national certification exam to become Registered Midwives (RM).
RMs can provide care in various settings, including hospitals, birthing centers, and private practices.

Application Requirements

• JAMB UTME is not needed
• Candidates are expected to have at least 5 credits in relevant O’level subjects (ENG,PHY,CHM,BIO,MATH) from NECO/WAEC/NECO GCE/WAEC GCE in no more than two sittings.

• Fill out the registration form online and make an online payment of ₦15000 for the application.
• Complete the form with your biodata and fill in your O’level results.
• Submit the form when done.

Closing Date For Basic Midwifery form

Submission of the online application form ends on Wednesday, 20th March, 2024. Please note that there are no paper forms.

Date of Entrance Examination (CBT)

• Entrance Examination: Monday, 25th March – Wednesday, 27th March, 2024.
• Date of Interview: Friday, 29th March and Monday, 1st April, 2024.
• Venue: Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery, Eleyele, Ibadan and School of Basic Midwifery, Kishi
• Time: 8.00 am prompt
